Howard Edwards reached 100 years of age on September 1, 2023. Howard founded the Louisville EAA Chapter in May 1961.

Howard has experienced many aviation adventures, including building a Wittman Tailwind, owning a surplus B-25, flying his Bonanza across the country, living in South Africa, helping start the Bowman Eagles Taildragger Flying Club, and was one of the organizers of the still record-setting Young Eagles event, which flew over 750 young persons in one day. He piloted his last flight at the age of 96. Howard was always an organizer, which he continues at his retirement community.
