Flight Club 502 today announced that thanks to a very generous donation from Mark and Kellie Carter, the non-profit’s Board of Directors was able to established an endowment designed to provide youth flight training scholarships. The Flight Club 502 Kentucky Aviation Aerospace Education Endowment will serve as a vehicle to provide scholarships to KY area youth opportunity to explore several facets of aviation including aircraft maintenance, flight training, along with aviation finance, marketing, IT and communications. The Flight Club 502 Executive board would like to thank Mark and his wife Kellie for their benevolence. Their gift will grow and provide youth aviation scholarships serving Kentucky youth for years to come.

Mark is currently serving as the Commissioner, Kentucky Department of Aviation at Commonwealth of Kentucky, Transportation Cabinet. As a native to Kentucky and University of Kentucky graduate, Mark has deep roots to the community and has held several C-level positions in health care and consulting industries and is a pilot himself. As the Commissioner of the KY Dept of Aviation, he understands the importance of getting KY’s youth exposed to aviation and all of the benefits a career in aerospace can offer. “One of the most enriching opportunities of our lives has been the privilege to fly. While becoming a pilot was a hobby for me initially, late in my professional life it became a career. Kellie and I are very pleased to help Flight Club 502 make career opportunities in aviation available to young Kentuckians, regardless of the challenges they may face due to socioeconomic circumstances. “

The endowment fund is professionally managed by Baird Advisors based in Louisville KY.  The fund will provide other individuals and businesses in Kentucky to contribute and grow the youth scholarship fund.  Anyone interested in contributing to the endowment please click on this link: PayPal.Me/FC502Endowment
