From Private Pilot to ATP: Celebrating Evan Meyers’ Journey

We are incredibly proud to celebrate one of Flight Club 502’s own—Evan Meyers, who officially passed his Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) checkride on Friday, April 4th! Evan is now a First Officer based out of LaGuardia Airport (LGA), continuing to advance in his aviation career with dedication and professionalism.

Evan’s journey with Flight Club 502 began in his teen years, and like so many of our students, he started with a passion and a dream. He earned his private pilot license through Flight Club 502—an achievement that laid the foundation for the aviation career he’s building today. That milestone marked the beginning of a path filled with hard work, commitment, and a deep love for flight.

Looking back, Evan expressed his sincere gratitude to Flight Club 502, sharing that he is “forever grateful” for the role the club played in helping him realize his dream. His story is a powerful reminder of the transformative impact this organization has on youth in aviation.

Today, Flight Club 502 proudly supports hundreds of members in our community. Through access to aircraft, mentorship, scholarships, and real-world flight experience, we equip young aviators like Evan with the tools they need to succeed in the skies and beyond.

Thanks to the continued support of our volunteers, staff, and generous donors—especially those who participate in our aircraft raffles—Flight Club 502 is building futures, one flight at a time.

Congratulations, Evan! Your journey from private pilot to ATP is an inspiration. We can’t wait to see what you do next.
